Accounting & Finance Internship

Support the design and development team by giving user interface insights and testing for quality assurance, analyzing user challenges, and identifying enhancement opportunities. The designer will need to understand UX/UI best practices, including wireframing, usability testing, and prototype design. In addition, a good understanding of different testing practices and the ability to critically analyze testing results is essential.

  • Remote Internship/Co-op: Summer Term 2023
  • 8-month internship
  • Part-time work is available leading up to the summer term.
  • Salary: $23/h (40 hours weekly)

About RideFlag

RideFlag is a Canadian company that seeks to make a positive impact on reducing traffic congestion by making carpooling accessible. Through our proprietary technology, users can accurately verify the number of occupants within a vehicle in real-time and access HOV incentives. Incentives may include discounted or free tolls. RideFlag’s goal is to encourage the formation of carpools and reduce the number of single-occupancy vehicles (SOVs), ultimately reducing CO2 emissions. We are looking to recruit a student with the appropriate skill set (primarily accounting with some finance) to manage funding from external partners, as well as handle our day-to-day bookkeeping activities.

Typical Day

  • Update ledgers in compliance with accounting standards

  • Build upon existing forecasting and manage data analytics

  • Preparation of reports and filing of client financials

Skills

  • Knowledge and understanding of accounting and finance at a university level

  • Proficiency with Excel and Microsoft Office applications

  • Can apply ASPE policies and principles

  • Capable of multi-tasking and managing tight deadlines

  • Self-motivated to work

  • Effective oral and written communication

  • Attentive to detail
