Android Developer

As an Android Software Developer, you will be a technically oriented application developer responsible for coding, programming, analysis, and database design. You will work on new development projects including mobile applications, and existing systems in the relentless in the pursuit of excellence.

We have been awarded a major contract with the San Francisco Metro Transportation Commission for our innovative HOV application and we are entering live software trials this spring. We have a need to expand our technical bench of programmers for continuous development and product enhancements using leading edge machine learning and edge computing on a wide variety of mobile devices.

While the RideFlag office is located in Mississauga, during these COVID-cautious times, our team is primarily working from home.  When the COVID restrictions are lifted, the programming staff is expected to meet in the office at least once per week for group collaboration sessions.  

Responsibilities

  • Work primarily in Kotlin.
  • Directly influence the architecture of new features and the entire platform.
  • Work with a strong team of developers and product designers to continuously improve RideFlag applications.
  • Complete tasks within an agile, sprint-based methodology.
  • Peer code review with other members of the team.
  • Develop and maintain application features, from design to planning and coding based on the VIPER architecture pattern.
  • Identify and solve any technical difficulties and bugs in conjunction with the testing and QA team.
  • Provide content and thought leadership for development initiatives.

Qualifications

  • 2-4 years of Kotlin development experience.
  • Have the ability to take features from initial specification all the way to delivery.
  • Be a graduate of a University or College program, or demonstrate similar experience.
  • Excellent teamwork and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to write supporting technical documentation.
  • Knowledge of VIPER design pattern.
